Year 5 science - What is dissolving?
As part of our topic about reversible and irreversible changes, we looked at which substances would dissolve into liquids and which would not. We learned that anything which can be dissolved is soluble. We were testing salt, sugar, gravy granules and polo mints. Which ones do you think dissolved? At the end of our experiment, we thought about what we could change for next time, that might affect the dissolving, including temperature, stirring and controlling more carefully the amounts. Everyone had fun with it - even if we also discovered who doesn't like gravy!
